TEXT MESSAGING PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY OF PREGNANT WOMEN IN EARLY DETECTION OF DANGER SIGNS PREGNANCY
Abstract
Low coverage rate of K4 and handling complications in pregnant women is a problem in Klaten region. Low coverage due to a lack of information and motivation in antenatal care. Electronic media can be used as a support intervention to increase information, namely the Text Messaging Program. This research aim to determine effects of Text Messaging Program toward antenatal care compliance and early detection ability of danger signs among pregnant women. This type of research is a quasy experimental research design with post-test only non-equivalent control group. The sampling technique used was Quota sampling, the number of sampling obtain 52 respondents in the third trimester of pregnant women. Data analysis techniques used Mann Whitney and Chi Square with a significance level of 0.05. Result: The ability of pregnant women in early detection of danger signs is considered relatively of 53.8 %. Text Messaging Program affected in ability of pregnant women in early detection of danger signs, with a p value = 0.00 (p <0.05). There is significant effects between Text Messaging Program toward ability of pregnant women in early detection of danger signs in pregnancy.
