DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF RECORDING AND UTILIZATION OF MOTHER CARDS BY MIDWIVES IN PEKALONGAN DISTRICT
Abstract
Government efforts in order to reduce maternal and infant mortality are to complete health facilities that are carried out in a comprehensive and integrated manner, including promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative efforts (Ministry of Health RI, 2013). ) To support promotive and preventive efforts, the Ministry of Health has issued a variety of Maternal and Child Health instruments, including the Mother Cohort, Child Cohort, Toddler Cohort, Mother Card, Maternal and Child Health Book (KIA), Integrated Management of Young Children (MTBM) and programs Integrated Antenatal Care (ANC). Until now there has been no evaluation of the recording and utilization of mother cards in Pekalongan Regency. This study aims to descripting of maternal card recording and reporting in Pekalongan Regency. The type of research conducted is quantitative non-experiment with observational analytic design and cross sectional approach. The population in this study is the midwives in all regions of Pekalongan Regency in 2017. The sample of this study used a cluster random sampling of 67 midwives. Data collection using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique that will be used is the univariate test. The results showed that more than half (61.2%) of respondents did complete the recording of the mother's card, 38.8% of respondents were still incomplete in recording the mother's card; the majority (82.1%) of respondents had a good perception of the utilization of maternal cards, a small percentage (17.9%) had less perception. The health office needs to supervision and routinely evaluate the registration of the mother's card and the head of the puskesmas needs to provide a policy on rewards and sanctions to the village midwife in carrying out their duties including documentation of the mother's card.
